Role: Test Manager
Location: East Midlands
Contract Type: FTC – 6 Months
We are supporting a leading financial services organisation undergoing a core banking replacement programme and are seeking an experienced Test Manager to play a critical role in ensuring quality, compliance, and successful delivery.
You will be responsible for defining and executing the end-to-end testing strategy across a complex, multi-workstream programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver comprehensive test strategies covering SIT, UAT, integration, regression, performance and security testing
- Lead and coordinate QA teams across internal and third-party providers
- Manage test planning, resourcing, dependencies, and execution across workstreams
- Own defect management processes, triage, prioritisation, and resolution
- Ensure full traceability and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
- Provide clear reporting, dashboards, and readiness indicators to senior stakeholders
- Support change, training, and go/no-go decisions during implementation
- Hold vendors and offshore teams accountable to agreed SLAs and KPIs
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Test Manager / QA Manager on large-scale transformation programmes
- Strong background in banking or regulated environments (core banking experience desirable)
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to engage at both strategic and delivery levels
- Experience working across Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management capability
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, Selenium, Leapwork
- Experience working with offshore QA teams (e.g. India) is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical outcomes into business insight
