About the Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Risk Analyst to join an established financial services organisation looking to strengthen its risk management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in financial risk or a related risk discipline who is looking to develop their career, broaden their technical knowledge and gain exposure to different areas of risk management.
You don’t need to have experience across every area of risk. We’re looking for someone with strong analytical skills, a good understanding of risk principles and the ambition to learn and develop.
The Role
Working within an experienced Risk team, you will help monitor, assess and report on risks across the organisation, providing insight and analysis to support business decisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing financial and business risk information to identify trends, exposures and potential areas of concern.
- Supporting risk appetite monitoring, management information and governance reporting.
- Reviewing financial risk exposures, including areas such as capital, liquidity and Treasury risk.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of risk management frameworks, policies and processes.
- Working with Finance, Treasury and other business teams to review risk information and provide constructive challenge.
- Supporting regulatory risk activities, including capital and liquidity assessments and recovery planning.
- Preparing clear risk reports and communicating findings to stakeholders.
- Helping identify opportunities to improve risk reporting, controls and processes.
About You
We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:
- At least 1 year’s experience in a risk-related or analytical role, ideally within banking, lending or financial services.
- Experience in one or more areas such as financial risk, prudential risk, Treasury risk, enterprise risk, credit risk or operational risk.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data and management information.
- Good Excel skills and the ability to interpret and present findings clearly.
- An understanding of risk management principles, governance and controls.
- Good communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Financial risk experience would be particularly advantageous, although candidates from other relevant risk backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Exposure to ICAAP, ILAAP, risk appetite frameworks, regulatory reporting or capital and liquidity risk would be beneficial but is not essential.
What’s on Offer?
- Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.
- Competitive benefits package.
- Hybrid working with just one week per month in the office.
- Office attendance expenses fully covered for eligible employees living approximately 50+ miles away.
- Opportunity to develop experience across financial and enterprise risk.
- Supportive team environment with opportunities for professional development.
- Exposure to a broad range of risk management and regulatory activities.
