Role: ServiceNow Architect

TRR are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced ServiceNow Architect to join a growing team supporting several new and ongoing ServiceNow projects. This is a senior architecture position with responsibility for the end-to-end ServiceNow platform architecture, covering multiple modules including ITSM, ITAM, ITOM, CMDB, SecOps and IRM/GRC.
You will play a key role in defining the platform roadmap, architectural standards and governance while working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and enterprise architecture. The role will also involve leading the local ServiceNow team, providing technical direction, coaching and architectural oversight to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable and aligned with ServiceNow best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Architecture & Strategy
- Define the overall ServiceNow platform architecture across multiple modules.
- Own and maintain the ServiceNow platform roadmap and technical standards.
- Establish architectural governance, design principles and reusable solution patterns.
- Promote configuration over unnecessary customisation.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security and compliance requirements.
Solution Design & Technical Leadership
- Lead solution design from discovery and requirements through to implementation.
- Define data models, CMDB architecture and integration strategies.
- Provide technical direction to ServiceNow Developers, Administrators and Consultants.
- Establish quality gates, development standards, testing approaches and architectural reviews.
- Lead and mentor the local ServiceNow team.
ITSM Architecture
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow ITSM, including: Incident, Request, Problem, Change, Knowledge Management, Service Catalog, SLAs / OLAs, Automation and workflow
You will help define process architecture, lifecycle states, routing, assignment rules and automation strategies.
ITAM – SAM / HAM
- Experience architecting ServiceNow IT Asset Management solutions, including: Software Asset Management, Hardware Asset Management, Licensing and compliance, Entitlements and reconciliation, Asset lifecycle management, Procurement and inventory processes, Asset integrations with ERP and other enterprise systems
ITOM
- Strong knowledge of ITOM architecture, including: ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, MID Server architecture, Credentials and discovery strategies, Monitoring integrations, Event correlation and alert management
CMDB
- You will be responsible for helping define and govern the ServiceNow CMDB, including: CI classes and relationships, Data models, CSDM / service portfolio alignment, Reconciliation, Data quality, Certification and audit processes, CMDB ownership and governance
SecOps
- Experience with ServiceNow Security Operations is highly valuable, including: Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, Security integrations, Security workflow automation, Remediation processes and SLAs
IRM / GRC
- Experience with ServiceNow IRM/GRC is also required within the wider architectural scope, including: Risk management, Controls, Audit, Compliance, Risk assessment and treatment, Evidence collection, Compliance reporting
Integrations & Technical Ecosystem
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow integrations, including: REST / SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Servers, SSO and identity integrations, Data synchronisation, Event ingestion, Enterprise system integrations
Platform Health & Governance
- Ensure platform performance, scalability and maintainability , Support upgrade readiness and release management, Identify and manage technical debt, Establish platform health checks and technical governance, Promote secure, upgrade-safe and maintainable ServiceNow implementations.
Essential Experience:
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience working as a ServiceNow Architect, Technical Architect or Solution Architect.
- Excellent knowledge of ITSM and CMDB.
- Strong experience across ITOM, ITAM/SAM/HAM, SecOps and IRM/GRC.
- Experience designing integrations and enterprise ServiceNow solutions.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture and best practices.
- Experience with governance, architectural standards and technical documentation.
- Experience leading or mentoring ServiceNow technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Dutch and English language skills.
Certifications:
The following would be advantageous:
- ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
- Certified Master Architect (CMA)
- CIS certifications across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SecOps or IRM
- CSA / CAD
- ITIL or relevant security/risk certifications

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the architecture of a broad ServiceNow environment rather than focusing on one individual module. You’ll have the opportunity to influence platform strategy, establish architectural standards, lead technical decisions and help develop a local ServiceNow team while working across multiple enterprise projects.
